This is a walkthrough of my Dweltel in blender. I couldnt make the actual camera work so did the old ‘film the screen’ trick. Because of this the colours, shading etc are not correct and the partitions appear to have a strange effect on them but it looks quite interesting. Having a film like this would be a good way of promoting the Dweltel and showing how it can be used to prespective clients. I would like to make a film like this to go with my final presentation, as think it would fit in well with the Dweltel card idea as well.

You furniture components (as per your previous post and this film) are starting to get really interesting; they seem to have a slightly industrial character like pieces of machinery capable of transforming any second. They seem to suggest interesting material qualities you could start to experiment with…
The video is exciting in that it signals the question of transition. At the moment, as you move from the office space into your Dweltel, there is an abrupt transition from public to private or semi private space. I think if your components behave not just as furniture but also as architectural components, interacting with the current building; possibly cutting in the architectural fabric (walls, floors, façade) you could start to design transitional spaces creating interesting spatial trajectories from public to semi public, to private.

i like how you’ve described them as transforming as thats really what they are. transformations of standard furniture, i might start calling them that.
at the moment i just cant think of how to interact my designs into the architecture of centre point. I dont want my dweltel to seem like an abrupt transition however. i want it to fit in with the office as it is part of it, so i’ll have to try and figure this out.
When you say the material qualities do you mean for when the dweltel is actually made? the model is going to be laser cut so will just be out of wood most likely or cardboard. the big model piece however i do need to think about
