Dweltel promotional video

April 13th, 2010 · 2 Comments · Language of Vision

This video is a promotional video for the Dweltel.  Its a very rough version as have limited editing facilities as home.  I want to add music and work on the tranisitons.  its also too long at the moment.  i just wanted to show what the dweltel can offer to prospective clients.  I have used target space as the owners of dweltel and took some of there promotional writing to mix in with the dweltel video.  hopefully i’ll be able to create a better one for tuesday!

    The idea of a promotional video is great;
    Your hotel is very much part of the interior of centre point at the moment where you probably want to sell it more as part of the ‘Interior of London’.
    I would start breaking parts of the Centre Point building to be able to design vertically connected spaces and possibly making links with the surrounding urban context.
    There is something interesting in the way you use form; office program is very straight and linear, the hotel lobby space design is more curved and the domestic interiors of your hotel are very organic. Is this a conscious decision to design this ‘transfer’ from public space to more private spaces?

    i’ve been basing my concept on centre point and havent really thought about it as the interior or london. the dweltel can be implemented in any office not just ones in london. how do you mean show it as an interior of london?

    im not sure how to break centre point up either. i know you mentioned it before and i cant think how to link it to the surrounding area or changing parts of centre point. i seem to hit a brick wall when trying to develop this part of it!!!

    the organicness and curves of my design were not a concious design decision. I just went through my different designs and picked the ones i like the most and felt could be developed into different things e.g the lamp was a stool. i wanted the partitions to be curved to fit in with the shapes of my dweltel as non of it is partically linear so i guess that is the only concisous decision.
